Q2 2023 Market Review
The stock market continued its recovery in Q2 with the US leading the way by a significant margin. Returns of 8.39% in the US and 3.03% internationally moved markets in the right direction, though still chasing the peak set more than a year and a half ago in January 2022. On the other hand, interest rates continued to rise as the Federal Reserve is still fighting inflation, though it is showing signs of cooling. The US bond market was down 0.84% while global bonds were up 0.73%. This quarter was yet another reminder of the unpredictable yet rewarding characteristics of markets.
